What’s the difference between a Trailer, Tag Along, and Tyke Toter?

Accepted Answer

Trailer: Enclosed, two-wheeled cart that attaches to an adult bike. Best for toddlers or younger kids (ages 1–5). Offers shade and seat belts.
Tag Along: A single-wheeled attachment that lets kids pedal behind an adult. Ideal for children ages 4–9 who want to help pedal but aren’t ready to ride solo.
Tyke Toter: A front-mounted child seat attached to the adult bike’s top tube. Best for ages 2–5. The child sits directly in front of the rider and holds handlebars.

What ages or sizes are best for each equipment type?

Trailer: 1–5 years old, up to 40 lbs per child (holds 1–2 children)
Tag Along: 4–9 years old, rider height 3’5”–4’5” Tag Along is the same size as a 18"- 20" Bike
Tyke Toter: 2–4 years old, max weight 45 lbs

Can we use the kids equipment with electric bikes?

Accepted Answer

For safety, kids equipment is only available with regular pedal cruisers and 3-speed city cruisers. Not compatible with e-bikes.

How do I know which setup is best for my child?

Accepted Answer

Choose the Trailer for toddlers and nap-prone kids.
Choose the Tyke Toter if your child is confident and you want them seated in front of you.
Choose the Tag Along for older kids who want to pedal along with you.

Can my bike tow more than one attachment?

Accepted Answer

No. For safety, we only allow one attachment per adult bike.
